Our
Offering
to
You

At some point in her life,
every woman stops to think:
Is this
really what I am
supposed to be doing with
my life?
Or … is
there something more that I
am supposed to be?
For some, these questions
come early - age 18 or 19,
just as you’re entering
adult life. For others, the
questions come later. And,
for many, they persist, even
when we are living
life fully, with a
satisfying job and life
style.
God has a hand in these
questions, whether we
recognize it or not.
These questions
serve like sign posts,
pointing us along our
journey of discovering what
God is asking
us to do with the gifts
we’ve been given.
The Sisters of the Divine
Savior recognize this
reality and invite Catholic
women, especially between
ages 18 and 40, to notice
these “sign posts” and to
respond.
|
In fact, we invite you to
work with us to discover
where these sign posts might
be leading
you. You don’t have to be
sure of your “call” right
now - but you’ve probably
wondered
“Is being a Sister something
God’s asking me to
consider?"
God calls everyone.
But,
God doesn’t call everyone to
be a Sister of the Divine
Savior. |
|
Those who
find joy as a Salvatorian
Sister are typically:
-
Between age 18 and 40
when they officially
enter (though there are
exceptions),
-
Active in a Catholic
parish or faith
community in some way,
-
Psychologically healthy
and able to communicate
well with others,
-
Willing and able to work
and live with others in
small multi-generational
groups,
-
Interested in partnering
with others to discover
God’s call and presence
in daily life,
-
Able to make short and
mid-term commitments to
engage in service,
prayer, and reflection,
-
Willing to learn how to
listen - and thus - to
learn what God is asking
of them in life.
It’s okay to be unsure, or
even confused. After all, we
live in a society where
we’re not always able to be
attentive to God’s call to
us.
We know what it’s like to
ask, again and again,
questions like:
-
Is this
really what I am
called to do in my life?
-
Do I have what it takes?
(What does it take,
anyway?)
-
What are the
requirements? Do I meet
them?
-
What if it doesn’t work
out?
These questions are
normal - and they are good.
Moreover, we can help you
find
answers that work for you.
We can help you along the
journey.
Why not begin to find the
answers?
