do you do for fun! What would a 20-25 year old do for a social life if she
was a sister? I can't picture myself sitting around every night just watching
television or playing cards. That's what my elderly aunts do...but definitely
not me. I guess I wouldn't expect to be allowed to do the "bar scene"
but... what CAN I do to fulfill my need for socialization?

What a good
question, since many times in anyone’s life school, work etc. can consume
lots of time and then FUN seems to take a back seat.
You’re correct in your expectation that the usual “bar” scene would not
be a good idea. I’m not a play cards - watch TV person either. We
sisters are involved in a variety of different “groups.” Each of
these groups is a part of our life and brings us into different settings.
For me, I socialize with friends at the hospital where I work, but I also sing
and so most of my “free time” is spent in the area of something musical,
choirs, etc. Yes, there would be a definite commitment that would be made
to spend time with the sisters with whom you live since you would want to get
to know them and they to know you if indeed you want to become a member of a
particular community. But each of us has a circle of friends and
acquaintances in addition to the group with whom me live.
