Anon writes: Sort of a silly question, but do all sisters have computers or access to computers? Because I thought you have some sort of poverty vow or something? How does owning computers - or cars or DVD players etc.- "fit" with that? (I'm not being critical here - I am trying to understand it. That's all.) Thanks.

No question is silly. The purpose of this forum is to provide an opportunity to
get your questions answered.
As a Salvatorian sister I do not own a computer, DVD player, etc. However in the
community where I live we have a computer and a VCR (no DVD player yet, as no
one in the house has seen a need for one).
As an apostolic community we are involved in ministry in the world. Access to
today's technology is necessary and helps with the mission (this forum for
example).
The vow of poverty for me means that I do not own the goods that I use. We live
simply in our cultural context. Anything that I earn goes directly to the
community. The community provides for the needs of the sisters.
