Sister Virginia Honish,
SDS, center, is inducted
into St. Robert's School Hall of Fame
Sister Virginia Honish, SDS, principal of
Divine Savior Holy Angels High School in
Milwaukee was honored by members of her home
parish, St. Robert's. The theme of the
award was "The difference between ordinary
and extraordinary is the little extra."
Sister Virginia has been known for that
"extra" in her beginning teaching, her work
as Principal of St. Pius X Grade School in
Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, her leadership of the
Sisters of the Divine Savior North American
Province, and her energy in advancing Divine
Savior Holy Angels High School as Principal.
The Administrative Headquarters of the
Sisters of the Divine Savior adjoins DSHA
High School, in a way that is very symbolic:
the Sisters of the Divine Savior are deeply
committed to the education and support of
women throughout the world. Sister
Virginia says, "Our mission is to prepare
young women for the opportunities and
challenges of their lives with an emphasis
on the development of the whole person.
I have a unique opportunity to work with
teachers, parents, students and staff to
live the DSHA mission. By challenging
our girls academically, spiritually, and
socially, we know they will have the values,
skills, and tools to become leaders and
women of faith."
