Becoming an SDS Sister
Stages of Formation: Temporary Vows

Sister Karlyn Cauley, SDS
Directress of Sisters in Temporary Vows

Temporary Vows : deepening the commitment

Sisters in temporary vows continue to  study, pray and listen to God's  Word, and the voices of the Community as Salvatorians live out that Word in daily community life furthering the ministry of Christ.  Sisters continue an ongoing life transformation developing a deeper understanding and appreciation of following in the footsteps of the apostles- making the Savior known.

You also continue the  study of Salvatorian spirituality, the Rule of Life (the guidelines by which we live), the life and spirituality of our  Foundress, Blessed Mary of the Apostles Thérèse von Wüllenweber, and the Founder, Fr. Francis Mary of the Cross Jordan .

The period of temporary profession is usually  five years, but may be extended depending upon a variety of circumstances. During the time of temporary profession,  the Sister lives her life as she would if she were finally professed.  The only difference is the right  to hold office in the congregation.
